Seattle based guitarist/composer... one of America's foremost experts in Pan-African, Soukous, Rumba and Jazz music. A major player on the scene in London, Seattle, Boston, who has played, collaborated and been special guest with African Artist Mose Fan Fan, Ali Birra, Geoffrey Oryema, Diblo Dibala, Orchestra Virunga, Tabu Ley Rochereau and many other important artists. He is also well versed in the be-bop idiom, and many other musical styles and cultural music.
Playing Music since 1971, “Uncle Doug” Cooper is a multi faceted Musician. Working as a talented Bassist, an accomplished Guitarist, an Impressive Harmonica player, and Vocalist, with a touch of Piano & Percussion to round things out.

I always see young & old alike singing along, Telling Me things like “ I remember what I was doing” or “Who I was with when I first heard that song” to “My parents used to play those songs all the time” and “I was raised on that music” also “You never hear anyone playing these songs anymore”.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, saxophonist Kareem Kandi is a performer, composer, and educator, in high demand for his talents both on and off the stage.
Kareem is a versatile saxophonist and composer with strong roots in the traditions of Jazz, Blues, Classical and Funk, and has been performing throughout the U.S. and abroad for years, gaining attention from critics and audiences alike. While staying true to musical styles of the past, he also keeps an eye towards the future by composing original music as well as new arrangements of timeless songs from the great American songbook.
Brother John and the Surrogates is a Seattle-based group focusing on original Americana music and select cover material, often leaning into the music of Tom Waits. The groups’ sound ranges from dreamy ballads to blues-based grooves to edgy progressive compositions and everything in between.
