“The Blue Tide is… dazzling… tender… spooky… thought-provoking… The feel of Alan Lomax field recordings.” —Bluesletter, Washington Blues Society The Blue Tide is a Seattle-based acoustic blues band featuring lifelong friends and collaborators Daniel Rapport (guitar and vocals) and J.D. Lenoir (harmonica and vocals). Growing up in Seattle, Daniel and J.D. have been playing blues together since their high school days, when they first formed a band under the same name. Daniel honed his craft as a guitarist in the legendary Garfield High School Jazz Ensemble and has performed and recorded with notable local artists, including Macklemore, Blue Scholars, The Seattle Rock Orchestra, Gems, Big World Breaks, The Lonely Children, iDead, The Pazific, and The Daniel Rapport Trio. J.D. also performs with the Joy Street Orchestra and has shared stages with Daniel Pak (of Kore Ionz) and Stone Gossard (of Pearl Jam). Rooted in the Mississippi Delta blues, The Blue Tide blends classic blues covers with original songs—connecting the raw energy, driving rhythms, and heartfelt storytelling of the tradition with lyrics and an attitude firmly in the present.
