ABOUT SONIC GUILD SEATTLE: Sonic Guild Seattle (formerly Black Fret), a music non-profit established in 2020, has become a prominent force in Washington, disbursing over $375,000 to local music. In 2023, the annual grant fund expanded by 25% to $100,000, empowering musicians for various career development needs. With chapters in Austin, TX, Colorado, and Seattle, Sonic Guild has contributed over $4,000,000 to musicians in grants and direct payments since 2013.

Sonic Guild operates on a membership model, offering music enthusiasts exclusive access to intimate performances and a say in annual grant allocations. In 2023 Sonic Guild Seattle introduced public nominations into the first round of the awards process garnering over 1250 submissions identifying over 300 artists for consideration and ensuring the pool of artists for consideration represented musicians from throughout the Western Washington music community.
